A Sydney Kid Who Won the Super Bowl Is Coming to Broadway
From the Sydney Swans Academy to Super Bowl champion — Michael Dickson's story is one for the ages. And on Tuesday 24 March, he's coming to Rebel Sport at Broadway Sydney.
This is your chance to meet one of the most celebrated Australians in NFL history in person, right here in Glebe.
Who Is Michael Dickson?
Born and raised in Sydney, Dickson grew up playing AFL before making a remarkable leap to American football. He is the Seahawks' longest-serving player and one of the highest-paid punters in NFL history. His career punt average of 48.3 yards per punt ranks fourth in NFL history.
But it's what he did on 8 February 2026 that really cemented his legacy.
The Super Bowl Performance
In Super Bowl LX, Dickson punted seven times for 335 yards at an average of 47.9 yards per kick, with three of his kicks downed inside the Patriots' six-yard line. The Seahawks overpowered the Patriots 29–13 to claim their second championship. Dickson became the first Australian punter to win a Super Bowl ring — a moment celebrated across the country and felt especially close to home here in Sydney.
As Dickson himself put it after the game: "I'm so lucky to get to experience this. As a human, to get to experience this type of feeling, not many people get it, so I'm super grateful."
